The nasal valve refers to the narrowest part of the nasal airway, typically located near the entrance of the nose.
The most common cause of nasal valve obstruction is a severely crooked nasal septum, especially at the anterior part.
Other possible causes include collapse of the nasal sidewall due to weakened cartilage or poor soft tissue support, structural narrowing from previous nasal surgery, and stenotic nostrils.
Nasal valve surgery includes all measures to fix the above-mentioned causes.
